| Roman red and gold are everywhere in the old town. Nice was part of Italy until 1860. It was a gift to France for the help they gave in the Italian Revolution.Giuseppe Garabaldi one of the leaders of the revolution was born in Nice. | |

| Cathedrale Ste-Repartarte c.1650, in Place Rossetti. Built to honor the patron saint of Nice, a teenage virgin who was martryed in Asia Minor and who's body floated into Nice accompanied by by angels. Note the glazed tile dome. The bell tower was added in the 18th century. | |
